This is it! Hope to get all the last touches done today (if my arms will hold out). I found a spot to add a couple more posters and I have to graffiti out the graffiti in my photos. I had no idea that having graffiti in my mural is illegal, the City of Vancouver has asked that I remove it. So, it ads another element to the mural. I will learn how to be an un-graffiti artist today :)
I’m very close to being done the Wall of Joy mural :) This has been such a great experience that part of me doesn’t want it to end, but i know that there will be more wonderful things and joy-filled creations to come.

“The very basic core of a (wo)man’s living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.” – Christopher McCandless

“It is only in your thriving that you have anything to offer anyone. If you’re wanting to be of an advantage to others, be as tapped in, turned in, turned on as you can possibly be.” – Esther Abraham-Hicks

“Be passionate, fall madly in love with life. Be passionate about some part of the natural and/or human worlds and take risks on its behalf, no matter how vulnerable they make you. No one ever died saying, “I’m sure glad for the self-centered, self-serving and self-protective life I lived.” Offer yourself to the world — your energies, your gifts, your visions, your heart — with open-hearted generosity. But understand that when you live that way you will soon learn how little you know and how easy it is to fail.” _ Parker Palmer
“I believe life is constantly testing us for our level of commitment, and life’s greatest rewards are reserved for those who demonstrate a never-ending commitment to act until they achieve. This level of resolve can move mountains, but it must be constant and consistent. As simplistic as this may sound, it is still the common denominator separating those who live their dreams from those who live in regret.” – Anthony Robbins
The lovely Andrea taking flight. Super jumping joy.. this will going up on the Wall of Joy in the next couple of days. Stop by and see if you can find her – the mural is located at the corner of Abbott and W Pender St, Vancouver BC Canada :)

“So, do it. Decide. Is this the life you want to live? Is this the person you want to love? Is this the best you can be? Can you be stronger? Kinder? More Compassionate? Decide. Breathe in. Breathe out and decide.” – Meredith Grey

First row of Jump for Joy posters up on the Wall of Joy
First day putting up posters for Wall of Joy corner of Abbott and West Pender St. Vancouver BC Canada
First day of putting up posters is complete! This was the hardest part, should go a bit more smoothly from here on. Lost 1.5 posters. One from the wind getting a little too playful and the other when I hit a patch of water repellant cement, the poster just wouldn’t stick and ended up too wet with glue to salvage. Need to sort something out with that.
My body is really feeling it today.. Im super sore and covered in bruises! Its all worth it though :) and will be out there again today again (its supposed to rain today at some point, so will have to hold up if it does. The posters need to be dry until I paste them to the wall).
“Each of us has an inner dream that we can unfold if we will just have the courage to admit what it is. And the faith to trust our own admission. The admitting is often very difficult. What we really want to do is what we are really meant to do. When we do what we are meant to do, money comes to us, doors open for us, we feel useful, and the work we do feels like play to us.” – Julia Cameron
“…if we start to cultivate love, kindness, and inspiration, then we tap into much higher levels of universal consciousness and thus ‘download’ information directly from the field in ways we never thought possible.
Insight, creativity, wisdom, knowledge of all things – this is what we tap into, and this is the source of all great works of art, or achievements of human thought.” – Brandon West
Im all ready to go! I have the posters ready, the lift ready, I’ve patched the largest holes in the wall, scraped down pealing paint and hammered down and removed rusted shards of metal and nails from the wall.. it’s a minor fix up job on a wall that needs major repairs.
However, I’ve made the decision to hold off on putting up the posters until next week as the forecast calls for rain 4 days straight as of Saturday. This is a tough decision as Im dying to get started. But, I don’t want to get half the mural up then have it rain for 4 days without being water proofed first.
So, I wait until the sun comes back next week… if the forecast is correct, my start date for the mural will be Wednesday :) Can’t wait!!!
This is Cory, he works at the Dominion Hotel. He has great jumping joy style and will be sharing his positive energy in the Wall of Joy.
Mural making update:
Started doing repairs on the wall yesterday and barely put a dent in it. The wall will not be perfect by any means but I hope to patch up all the largest holes, Ive already scraped off the pealing paint and removed most of the rusted metal shards sticking out from the wall.
Today calls for rain so wont be able to finish the patch work until tomorrow. Hoping to start putting up the posters by this weekend, if the weather stays clear :) So excited!
“Everything you do has an impact. Who you are – that you are – actually matters. In an interconnected world (the only kind we have), our actions and the actions of others are inextricably linked- we are always and forever in a dance of mutual influence with those with whom we directly and indirectly participate. It is the unavoidable reality of being social creatures, only magnified by an ever-increasingly complex and interwoven societal structure. We matter to each other.” – Paul Greiner
“While living in the present moment, the true source of experiencing joy lies in one act: discovering and following what excites us the most in any given moment each day, all day… What you do, whatever makes you feel alive and joyful, is your unique expression. And it is probably the only thing that will bring you true joy and excitement.” – Robert Anthony
It’s Hongoro from Atira’s Enterprising Women Making Art program :) We had a great time capturing these joy-filled jumps for the Wall of Joy, look for her in the mural going up in a couple of weeks at the corner of Abbott and Pender Street in Vancouver BC Canada.
