Meeting new people and sharing jumping joy with Dean Muse in Palm Springs

Dean Muse photographed by Eyoalha Baker for Jump for Joy Photo Project and Palm Springs Cultural Center Artist Residency

A kitchen that serves healthy food to people who may not otherwise get a good meal brings people together. We met Dean while lunch was being served from the kitchen of a Church in Palm Springs. Dean has chosen to live off the grid and told me he knows sides of Palm Springs and the desert we’ve never seen before. We asked him if he would like to take part in the project and he was concerned that he might not be able to jump, but gave it a try anyway and wow! What a jump!

Get to know a little about what brings Dean joy:
Q: What inspires you to jump for joy?
A:
She did.

Q: How was your experience doing the jumping photos?
A:
Good.

Q: How do you describe the feeling of joy?
A:
She is my friend.

Q: What is your greatest passion in life?
A:
To learn.

Q: How do you feel about being part of a community project that promotes joy?
A:
Nice.

Q: If you could do anything in the world, what would it be?
A:
What I am doing.

If you’d like to help out people in Palm Springs who need a hand up, please make a Donation to the Well in the Desert.

Thank you for sharing your joy with us Dean!
