A little dog snuck in on the jump for joy action with Danny Walker

Daniel Walker photographed by Eyoalha Baker for Jump for Joy Photo Project and Palm Springs Cultural Center Artist Residency

It’s always nice to be invited to photograph people at their home as this is where people feel the most at ease. We met up with Danny and his husband Ron and they took out this gorgeous red sports car to create a fun pop of colour in the background. We started out with some fun jumps of the two of them together and their dog kept trying to get in on the action. So for his solo jump, Danny picked up the dog and we captured this adorable jump of joy, with the dog and all. So fun!

Get to know a little bit about Danny:
Q: What inspires you to jump for joy?
A:
My health, family, husband, living in Palm Springs and my dog.

Q: How was your experience doing the jumping photos?
A:
The experience was enjoyable. No real charge from the before or after.

Q: How do you describe the feeling of joy?
A:
Joy feels come and go. Some days you are happy and some days not so much. I feel very joyful and blessed to be where my husband and I are today.

Q: What is your greatest passion in life?
A:
I love to travel and see the world. I discovered this saying that pretty much sums it up. “We travel not to escape life, we travel so that life does not escape us”.

Q: How do you feel about being part of a community project that promotes joy?
A:
We all have plenty to be thankful for. This project sums up how most of us feel to be in SoCal, specifically Palm Springs.

Q: If you could do anything in the world, what would it be?
A:
PEACE for everyone.

Q: What are you working on or creating?
A:
Designing a new front yard and pool area.

Q: Mini bio or something special you want to share.
A:
I’m hoping the county will unite and solve our political differences and revise our gun laws to protect ourselves and our kids.

Thank you for sharing your joy with us Daniel!
