Super hero jump of joy with Rosanne Kumins in Palm Springs

Rosanne Kumins photographed by Eyoalha Baker for Jump for joy Photo Project and Palm Springs Cultural Center Artist Residency

We had the pleasure of meeting Roseanne when she brought us to a Church where she volunteers serving lunch for people who are homeless, or who simply can’t afford to buy food. If you are interested in supporting people in need, please check out The Well in the Desert to make a Donation. Rosanne saw how much fun we had doing jumping photos with the folks at the lunch, so set up her own jump for joy session.

Her jump was amazing! I was so impressed with how agile she is. When she did her jump her foot caught a tuft of grass on the way down and she did a stunt roll out so fast that she was back on her feet before I even knew what happened. Maybe she was a stunt double in another life?

Q: How was your experience doing the jumping photos?
A:
I was so nervous that I wouldn’t be able to get off the ground that I can’t remember much about my feelings other than trying not to embarrass myself!!!

Q: How do you feel about being part of a collaborative community project that promotes joy?
A:
It’s important to be a part of any community that strives to improve one’s quality of life.

Q: If you could do anything in the world, what would it be?
A:
Being able to feel the rhythm and dance . . . I am always jealous of people who dance well.

Q: What are you working on?
A:
Most recently helped with the very successful 2nd Palm Springs Dance Festival.

Q: Mini bio or something special you want to share.
A:
I am retired and spend half of the year in Palm Springs. It’s the better half. The other 6 months are in Boston or travelling.

Thank you for taking the time to share this beautiful jump of joy Roseanne!
