Circles of light and jumping joy with Naomi James

Naomi James photographed by Eyoalha Baker for Jump for Joy Photo Project and Palm Springs Cultural Center Artist Residency

Naomi was the first of nearly a dozen Girl Scouts I met at the Demuth Community Center garden. This dome structure with circles of light intrigued me immediately and wanted to attempt a jump jump inside with Naomi while we were waited for the rest of the girls to arrive. Naomi was ready and up for the challenge of trying to jump where the light was streaming through the holes in the dome. I’m happy we got this sweet one of her even if we can’t see her face, it is unique, just Like Naomi. I love it!

Thank you Naomi for being open to trying a creative jump and for sharing your joy.
