A jump of joy at the Palm Springs Cultural Center Farmers Market with Christine Huff

Christine Huff photographed by Eyoalha Baker for Jump for Joy Photo Project and Palm Springs Cultural Center Artist Residency

The Palm Springs Certified Farmers Market is a weekly event that takes place at the Palm Springs Cultural Center. I was excited to include one of the market vendors jumping for joy thanks to Megan, who manages the Farmers Market, and she knew that Christine would be a person to include.

Although Christine’s tent was a buzz with customers, she loved the concept of sharing joy and took a few minutes to jump around and share some joy with us. She has great energy and is super nice, make sure you stop by and say hello to Christine at the next Farmers Market!

Get to know Christine:
Q: What inspires you to jump for joy?
A:
Faith, family, friends, and being lucky to be where I am today.

Q: How was your experience doing the jumping photos?
A:
It was fun! At first I felt awkward jumping in front of people, and not knowing what style to jump. But when you said, “1, 2, 3, jump!” I just jumped without thinking, and did not seem to care about anything afterwards.

Q: How do you describe the feeling of joy?
A:
Joy is a special moment of happiness, creating an elevated state of elation in which you live briefly in that moment, forgetting everything around you.

Q: What is your greatest passion in life?
A:
I love travelling, meeting new people, learning new ways of thinking, and sharing stories. I believe that travelling, and learning about different cultures and ways of living, is the best way to grow as a person, and a great way to experience many memorable memories.

Q: How do you feel about being part of a community project that promotes joy?
A:
Awesome! A little bit of joy can go a long way, and it is amazing to think hopefully my photo can brighten someone’s day.

Q: If you could do anything in the world, what would it be?
A:
Visit every single country!

Q: What are you working on or creating?
A:
Being a farmer, there are always new projects and changes throughout the year as we adapt to the changes in environment, and the different seasons. Currently I am creating new produce signs for our booth at the farmers markets, and getting ready for berry season to kick off!

Thank you Christine for sharing your fun jumping joy with us!
