A day on the road around the Salton Sea and jumping for joy with Barrie Mowatt

Barrie Mowatt photographed by Eyoalha Baker for Jump for Joy Photo Project and Palm Springs Cultural Center Artist Residency

This was a fun filled, full day road trip adventure with Barrie of the Vancouver Biennale and his husband Murray. I have known these two for a few years now, they jumped for joy with me in Vancouver as well, check out their Vancouver jumps of joy here.

They have been coming to Palm Springs for years, so they knew all the cool spots to stop at along the way for jumps and photos. We had lots of great conversations while I snapped photos out the window, lots of laughs and crazy off road adventures that had me bouncing right out of my seat.

We even retraced back to visit some of the stops from my earlier roadtrip with Michael to Salvation Mountain. We stopped at the Buckshot cafe for lunch where I had done jump photos with my new friends Vicky, Letticia and Tina to say hello. And at Salvation Mountain we reconnected with Ronald aka Mountain Man and also said hello to the Wizzard at East Jesus.
