Sharing jumping joy with Rebecca La Cour in Palm Springs

Rebecca La Cour photographed by Eyoalha Baker for Jump for Joy Photo Project and Palm Springs Cultural Center Artist Residency

Rebecca was one of the talented kids I met when I went to the Marquee Academy of Performing Arts. Kai was full of energy and ready to jump. She chose this location because she wanted to jump beside her parents jeep. It only took a couple of jumps to get this great photo of her hovering in the air. You can really feel the joyful energy emanating from Rebecca.

Get to know a little more about Rebecca:
Q: How was your experience doing the jumping photos?
A:
In the beginning I was nervous but once I saw the photos I was surprised in a good way.

Q: How do you describe the feeling of joy?
A:
The feeling of joy is like walking on the beach with a dog.

Q: What is your greatest passion in life?
A:
Dance, photography, cosmetology. I have been dancing my whole life and I get a feeling of release when I dance. When I capture a great photo I feel accomplished. I love creating different looks with my anyone’s hair and face.

Q: How do you feel about being part of a collaborative community project that promotes joy?
A:
It’s awesome!

Thanks for sharing your beautiful joy with us Rebecca!
