Taking a leap of faith and sharing jumping joy with Lauren Werner in Palm Springs

Lauren Werner photographed by Eyoalha Baker for Jump for Joy Photo Project and Palm Springs Cultural Center Artist Residency

Lauren was a pleasant addition to my photo session with Shelly Cannon (feature coming soon!). Lauren was in Palm Springs visiting her aunt and came along to Jump for Joy with us. She has a sweet and sort of shy presence but completely opened up and shone as soon a she started jumping. I love her joyful jumps and glad she stepped out of her comfort zone to take part.

Get to know Lauren a little:
Q: What inspires you to jump for joy?
A:
My dog Madison is a constant source of joy in my life, so he inspires me to jump for joy.

Q: How was your experience doing the jumping photos?
A:
Before we jumped for joy, I felt a little weird and out of my comfort zone about jumping for joy but after the experience I felt a sense of exhilaration.

Q: What is your greatest passion in life?
A:
Movies and music are my greatest passions in life because they provide an escape from your everyday life. Music is always a sign to me that the future looks bright and will turn out alright.

Q: How do you feel about being part of a community project that promotes joy?
A:
I feel honored to be a part of a collaborative community project that promotes joy! It felt really cool to do something creative artistically.

Q: If you could do anything in the world?
A:
If I could do anything in the world, it would be to win the lottery and move to California because it’s my dream to be living in California and have plenty of money to travel and have the freedom to do what I please.

Q: Mini bio or something special you want to share.
A:
I’m from New Jersey not the valley. I have mental illness so I deal with anxiety and depression on a daily basis so doing something fun like jumping for joy really brought out my inner child and made me feel so much joy.

Thank you for the heartfelt answers and for sharing your jumping joy Lauren!
