Escape to a Desert Oasis Preserve for Levi Vincent’s jump of joy!

Levi Vincent photographed by Eyoalha Baker for Jump for Joy Photo Project and Palm Springs Cultural center Artist Residency.

Levi chose an incredible location for his photo session… a real life oasis in the middle of the desert! Thousand Palms Oasis Preserve is a mini road trip through the desert from where I’m staying in Palm Springs. It’s a peaceful place to reconnect with nature.

Walking through the trails, gorgeous beams of light shone through the shadows, so I had Levi do his jumps in the light beams. I love the calmness in Levi’s face in this photo which reflects perfectly the serene feeling of the location.

Get to Levi a little more, read on…
Q: What inspires you to jump for joy?
A:
I love my dogs beyond joy – They always make me smile. Just a quick shout-out to them… Hi Moca, Toby, Junior, Sandy and Rio! Gimme hugs!

Q: What was your experience doing the jumping photos?
A:
The surrounding backdrop energized my jumps and the crew cheered me on. It was fun from start to finish.

Q: How do you describe the feeling of joy?
A:
Joy reminds me that setbacks and sufferings are only temporary. Joy recharges my batteries and builds my resilience.

Q: What is your greatest passion in life?
A:
Taking a thought or idea and turning it into something tangible that can be shared with others.

Q: What does it mean to be part of the Coachella Valley community project that promotes joy?
A:
I engage the community on a regular basis and give as much as I can to education, economic development and special causes – it’s part of who I am. There is so much joy in giving and watching the results of giving, I find it very rewarding.

Q: If you could do anything in the world, what would it be?
A:
I would like to see a reduction in abortions due to irresponsible sexual behavior. Practice and promote safe and responsible sex. Wait. Plan. Prevent.

Q: What are you working on?
A:
I’m currently working on the casting division of the Greater Palm Springs Film Alliance & Film Office website. When incoming productions need background actors and extras, they’ll be able find them quickly and easily. It’s all about jobs, jobs and more jobs!

Q: Mini bio, or something special you want to share.
A:
I am President & CEO of the Greater Palm Springs Film Alliance & Film Office. Film freak. Entrepreneur nut. Internet inventor. Love my dogs, the Coachella Valley and chocolate (not necessarily in that order). I’m a really nice guy who wants to make a difference. Personal quote: “A chocolate bar gets you further than your business card.”
