Today I choose life…

“Today I choose life. Every morning when I wake up I can choose joy, happiness, negativity, pain… To feel the freedom that comes from being able to continue to make mistakes and choices – today I choose to feel life, not to deny my humanity but embrace it.” – Kevyn Aucoin

  1. This is very beautiful and touches my heart in a very personal way. My medical condition makes it difficult to choose joy when things are tough. But I am inspired by the idea of choosing joy. I plan on embracing joy in my life and writing career. I hope those who are in pain can find inspiration from this quote

    1. Hello Maria.. Im so happy you were inspired by this quote.. it is an ongoing choice, even through the pain. Keep imagining how you would like to feel little by little you will find your way. Sending some good, joyful, positive energy towards your pain!

  2. Glad you feel good. How about using your fine mental health to face down some of the critical issues and serious problems that are robbing your neighbors of the ability to feed their families or get a job. This is a time for all of us to roll up our sleeves and start digging this country out of the mess we are in. Jumping for joy every day doesn’t get it done.

    1. You’re right, jumping for joy isn’t addressing the very serious issues that plague the majority of people in this increasingly corrupt country. But it is a refreshing bit of positivity; we (or at least I) need to have a break from the harsh realities of the world and resulting negativity in order to avoid being overcome by despair and rendered incapable of doing anything. I appreciate the positive messages and images on this blog. Sometimes I feel too grumpy to take them to heart, but often they brighten my day and sometimes they challenge me to view things a bit differently. I doubt I’m the only one who benefits from it.

    2. Hello DataHeart.. we all have challenging days, sorry to hear you had a bad one. I don’t deny there are difficulties going on in the world and don’t think that jumping will “fix” problems. As Ziya pointed out, sometimes we need to take a break from the “critical issues and serious problems” in the world and celebrate our lives and all the good that also exists in the world.

To focus on joy and make joy a valid and valuable emotion, does not demean peoples suffering in any way. We can take on challenges while still taking a positive perspective in life.

I love jumping because of what it represents… uplifting ourselves and others. I love supporting people who want to create and live life fully, to inspire hope, to play and enjoy our lives, to focus on good feelings and raise our energy in a positive way. The more we create this kind of positive energy in our own lives the more it can affect those around us.

Imagine 1000 people focused only on negativity, failures, problems and fear. Then imagine 1000 people focused on solutions, supporting each other to succeed, joy and a positive outcome and put them to the same task. Who would you prefer to start digging for you? πŸ™‚

Please... share the joy :)
